The Center for Science and Technology Studies at Yonsei University is the first university research center in South Korea dedicated to the study of science and technology from an interdisciplinary perspective, encompassing history, philosophy, sociology, and the science of science.

Starting with the introduction of the first graduate-level course on the science of science, the center aims to support young researchers in entering and studying the field, as well as to create a platform for researchers to share recent studies and findings. By doing so, we aim to gradually build a research community around the science and technology studies in South Korea.

The Science and Technology Studies (STS) is based on a transdisciplinary approach that uses large data sets to study the mechanisms underlying the doing of science—from the choice of a research problem to career trajectories and progress within a field.
